Frequently Asked Questions
- What is AOG shipping and why is it so important?
Aircraft on the ground (AOG) describes the time when an aircraft is stationary on the ground. There are many reasons why an aircraft might be on the ground. In some cases, AOG is caused by mechanical issues with the plane, such as a broken engine, fuel leak, or other component failures. Other times, it’s caused by weather or low fuel. During this time, AOG shipment is critical. Aircraft delivery services save airlines money on fuel, maintenance, and other related expenses. It also allows planes to fly longer, which means more revenue for airlines and increased passenger numbers.
- How to pack an airplane propeller for the move?
All airplane propellers should always be transported in a propeller shipping box or robust crate and securely packed and padded with foam contours and other supports to protect delicate surface coatings. It must be packed horizontally on support, supporting the propeller hub, or suspended at the attaching holes in the hub. During storage, propeller blades are protected by protective covers. In the event of long-term storage, clean the propeller hub and blades with detergent and lukewarm water before packaging. Airplane propeller blades should also be protected by protective covers such as blankets or bubble wrap if transporting the propeller in a disassembled state.
