Straight (Box) Truck Transportation Services

A 26-ft box truck’s limits depend on its GVWR. Many are rated at 26,000 lb GVWR, the highest rating that generally doesn’t require a CDL, and carry roughly 10,000 lb of payload. Heavier-rated versions, up to about 33,000 lb GVWR, require a Class B CDL and can carry more. Confirm the assigned truck’s legal payload before booking.

Box bodies commonly range from about 10 to 26 feet long. A 26-foot box offers roughly 1,700 cubic feet of cargo space. Payload depends on the truck’s GVWR and empty weight rather than its length, so confirm the specific vehicle’s rating and usable dimensions for your shipment.

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) has many compliance rules regarding any commercial motor vehicle: from transport box trucks to tractor-trailers. They are stipulating maximum carrying capacity, driving hours, and conduct, as well as vehicle safety to which Cowtown Logistics adheres. Therefore, it’s best to view their website for a comprehensive overview of regulations.

At Cowtown Logistics, we arrange straight truck freight across all 48 states, as well as over the border to Canada. If your freight needs to be delivered to a remote area or travel through challenging terrain, we’ll formulate the necessary plans and arrange an escort vehicle. In these cases, we secure dedicated carrier capacity to handle the move.
