Equipment and Capacity Overview

Built for Shipper Operations

Cowtown connects shippers with the right carriers and equipment types to move freight of all shapes and sizes, including over-dimensional and heavy haul freight, across the United States.
Flatbeds
Used to transport heavy loads, flatbeds are best for freight that won’t be compromised in bad weather or on rough roads. They’re suited for shipping large construction and manufacturing materials.
Step Decks
Also known as a lowboy trailer or drop deck, this commercial trailer is designed to carry tall cargo exceeding the legal height limit if transported on a standard flatbed trailer . Its low height provides forklifts with easy accessibility to load and unload cargo, as well as ramps allowing for additional use.
Dry Vans
This semi-trailer is fully enclosed to protect freight from the elements. Dry vans are not temperature controlled or designed to carry oversized freight . They are used to transport palletized, boxed, or loose freight.
Removable Goosenecks (RGNs)
Suitable for carrying long and tall freight, the front of the trailer can be detached and lowered to the ground, creating a ramp. RGN trailers are typically used to transport trucks, construction equipment shipping , and other motorized equipment because the freight can be driven onto the trailer.
Conestogas
A Conestoga is a flatbed truck with a rolling tarp-on-frame system that protects freight from weather conditions. It’s usually used to transport oversized freight that requires protection from the outside elements.
Straight Trucks
All axles on a straight truck are attached to a single frame. The driving compartment, trailer, and motor are within a unit and cannot be separated. Straight trucks are typically used to transport up to 12 pallets and boxes, making them a strong option for LTL freight and EUV (Exclusive Use Vehicle) moves.
