Pallets Guides
Unstable pallets and inaccurate measurements can lead to damaged goods, loading problems, and unexpected shipping costs. Pallet shipping preparation creates a secure unit that can be handled safely and measured accurately for the chosen freight service.
Quick Summary
Measure the loaded pallet, not just the base
The cargo, wrapping, and pallet together determine the shipment’s dimensions and weight. Pallet count alone does not confirm trailer fit: layout, stackability, weight distribution, and the loading method also affect available space.
Use a pallet suitable for the load and keep the freight stable and secured on its base.
Record the full loaded length, width, height, and weight of each shipping unit.
Tell the provider whether pallets can stack and whether forklifts, docks, or liftgates are available.
